The company

EgosTech Innovations is a Romanian limited-liability company based in Bucharest, registered for business and management consultancy. It delivers each engagement as a defined project or a monthly retainer. For details, see the contact page.

The principal

The work is led by Alexandru Thomae, the company’s administrator and principal consultant. He has spent more than 25 years in information technology, over 15 of them leading engineering teams, most recently as Head of Cloud and Platform Engineering. He works in Romanian, German, and English, all at C2 level. You work with him directly, with no account layer and no handoff to junior staff.

Track record

At ProfitBricks, the German infrastructure-as-a-service provider now part of IONOS, he led the engineering of the compute platform that today runs as the IONOS Cloud Compute Engine: the teams that built and ran the automation behind its virtual-machine fleet, responsible for how it performed and stayed available.

At Commerz Real, the Commerzbank investment arm, he ran cloud and infrastructure in full, from the data centre to the private cloud and Azure with Kubernetes, for a business audited twice a year by the European Central Bank and BaFin, Germany’s federal financial regulator.

At Deutsche Bank he led the DevOps transformation for its private and commercial banking division, a programme spanning Frankfurt, London, Munich, and Hamburg. It covered a target operating model, a maturity assessment, an automation consultancy stream, and an internal DevOps school, and reported to a steering committee of senior executives.

Earlier in his career he founded and ran an IT company of his own in Romania, and led teams across Europe and Africa, including a distributed team spread over three cities in Tanzania.

How we work

EgosTech works alongside your team, so the knowledge stays inside your organisation and with the people who keep the systems running. Access stays least-privilege and under your control, and every security trade-off is written down and walked through with you. When the engagement ends, what runs the system stays with you: the credentials, the code, and the runbooks.
